Question: What's the big deal with Planeswords?

I don't understand why imbued planeswords are so all-fired expensive. 

A) Can't I just imbue the same darn thing on any old sword?
- Hit Lightning 50%: Check
- Mage Weapon -20: Check
- Spell Channel: Check
- Faster Cast 1: Check
- DCI 15: Check

Wait - DCI on a weapon?  Ok, I start to see it...moving on:

B) If they are REALLY worth 10M a pop, I have a box of 125 for sale.  I'll even imbue them first.  Serious bidders only, will not sell individually.

That is correct. Since the FC 1 is counted, you're able to put on a hit spell. I always wanted to try hit lower attack but never have.

But I think it's already at 450 with those mods, so you'd have to drop some hit lightning to put another attribute on.

If you put all that on a weapon it's 5/5 590/450. If you take off the FC1 it goes to 4/5 450/450. Thus they become "all-fired" expensive.

yeppers!  you would not be able to get hit spell on one you make because for some reason the imbue system does not count the fc used with sc to get sc no neg.  that allows you to imbue extra weight making a superior mage wep

One more thing NObama.

When you make that weapon I always suggest people change the lightning to fireball instead. It's cheaper to imbue (wasted relic frag-wise) and is better vs other mages ("if" you happen to whack him with your weapon) when the delay spell fireball kicks in. The delay spell fireball "could" also reveal a smoke bomber potentially.

The only problem with that is that plane swords come with some Hit Lightning on them already...

There are both, HL and HFB ones. I happen to have a Lightning. Got it pretty cheap, and it was my first item I imbued

You just change the lightning to fireball instead Paulo. You have that option on any weapon. So if you loot a weapon off a monster that has hit harm, you can change it to a different hit spell if you prefer.

Wow, didn't know you could change the hit spell effects.... I knew about the slayer.

Is that all you can change? Hit spell and slayer... what about hit area? Leeches?
