Just got back to UO a few days ago after about a year away. And it's not the first time I quit, let houses drop and just walk away from it all. Always being sure I'll never play this game again. But it's like crack isn't it?
Well, I'm from Sweden, 31 years old.
Actually started UO on a freeshard (think it was called TAR, or something like that) in 2002. Had a lot of fun there with a few friends. When Age of Shadows hit OSI a few months after I wanted to check that out and started paying. Somewhere around that time my girlfriend (now wife) got hooked too. And it's mostly with her I still play to this day.
Been altering between Europa and Siege over the years. And as I said, quit a few times, losing everything but the characters and gold in the bank. Biggest loss was probably around 15 soulstones (yes with fully trained skills), on Siege to make it worse. So from then on I never kept soulstones outside the bank...
My wife is totally addicted to running vendors and making serious amounts of gold. So to keep that up we camp our fair share of idocs. But you can't only do that over ten years, so there has been a fair share of monster killing, treasure hunting, fishing and whatever else we can come up with.
Been using scripts since my early days at the freeshard. Mostly to train skills but also to do some other stuff that requires a stupid amount of clicking. To make it a little less stressful you know? But I never realized there could be any other place to get or talk about them (never got into making my own) other than the easyuo site. But after some browsing while script training chivalry I found this site, so here I am.
I'm losing my track here with this post, so it'll end here. If I missed anything or you got a question, let me now.
